The Eyeliners
making No Apologies for punk rock.
Punk rock lives on and The Eyeliners are exploding into cities across
the U.S introducing new songs off their CD titled No Apologies.
The band, which is based in New Mexico, consists of a trio of sisters;
Laura on drums and lead vocals, Gel on guitar, and Lisa on bass.
Performing in Chicago The Eyeliners showcased a strong set list with
Laura leaving the drums after a few songs for fourth member Jake to
fill-in as she took center stage to get in-your-face with
powerful new songs. Meanwhile Gel was having her own party on stage
showing off her guitar playing with behind the back jamming sessions and
Air Jordan jumping antics.
The Eyeliners performed a good mix of songs including “Punk-Rock
Planet”, “Destroy”, and one of the best songs off their CD
about a relationship gone south called “Think of Me” that
contains the ever catchy lyrics, “I hope you think of me when you burn
in hell”.
It is no surprise to see that The Eyeliners were signed to rock icon
Joan Jett’s own label, Blackheart Records. Jett and her manager Kenny
Laguna produced the new CD and Jett adds guitars and vocals to a few
songs and is in The Eyeliners video for the song “Destroy”.
To experience a concert with true punk-rock songs, no need to put on
blush, mascara, eyeshadow, or lipstick, but go ahead and put on The
Eyeliners for one fun- filled night offering no apologies.
