SEND THE DAWN

Out of Northwest Indiana comes a new and interesting band called Send The Dawn. This is a band that is as melodic as they are heavy.

We were finally able to catch the members of this band at one of their practices at guitarist Eric “Kopf” Raskopf’s home in Portage, Indiana.

The other members of the band are “Ed” Roseberry doing vocal honors, Scott “Tree” Hajduk playing bass, and Eric “Slim” Hajduk on drums.

Witnessing the exuberance for playing music these guys display, is a breath of fresh air, because they are strictly original in every aspect of the word. They play no cover tunes, instead opting to be true to themselves, claiming out loud that they are truly original!

Although the band is only eight months old, they have accomplished a great deal in their short time together. Send The Dawn has already opened for such national acts as – Chevelle, Helmet, Atreyu, Unearth, Norma Jean, Life of Agony, The Receiving End of Sirens, Cartel, and Mudvayne, to name a few.

In January of 2005, they were winners of two“Battle of the Band” contests. This group of talented young musicians seemingly can go nowhere but up as they continue to draw consistently large crowds wherever they play.

The dedication to their craft is quite obvious with a “no holds barred” kick ass attitude. These guys put on a great show, exhibiting so much “in your face” energy and cohesiveness that one cannot help becoming adrenalized watching as this band melds their individualities to produce a nucleus of pure power on stage.

Send The Dawn currently have a 3-song demo out titled, Alone We Shed, with a 7-song EP not far behind.

This band aspires for some serious recognition as they continue their quest to reach their personal goal of establishing themselves as an original music entity.

Raskopf displays great dexterity on his guitar as he weaves a hypnotic pattern of melodic sounds against the thunderous bass notes of Scott Hajduk. Roseberry exhibits a nice vocal range throughout their show and is becoming quite accomplished  in his craft and skills as a frontman/vocalist.

Last but not least is the steady and powerful drum beats of Eric Hajduk, who keeps near flawless time, pounding his skins as if there will be no tomorrow.

Collectively, this is Send The Dawn, a group of aggressive and focused young men who are definitely worth seeking out in concert if you are a fan of heavy, but melodic music.

There is no slacking with this outfit, as they give all they have at each performance to put on the best show possible.
