IAN ANDERSON

“Performs The Orchestral Jethro Tull”

Benz Street Entertainment / 160 Minutes

After a heavy show at your local club or arena, pop this inside your machine and kick back for “a little light music” (as a lyric from the Tull classic “Rocks On The Road”  suggests).

It’s not the first time Jethro Tull music has been performed by orchestra, but this effort, performed before a live audience by Ian and friends with the Neue Philharmonic Frankfurt, brings you into the concert hall to witness a rejuvenating exhibition of  musicianship.

Anderson once commented that, since suffering vocal chord damage some years ago, he has been forced to insert longer pieces of pure instrumental content into live shows.  The result has been his ever-increasing interest in creating more complex music.

This DVD release certainly showcases Anderson’s current musical tastes, wrapped warmly by his always enjoyable stage presence.   You’ll find Tull classics and Anderson solo material.

Tull fans will be particularly stimulated by the early Tull acoustic pieces performed live with their original orchestral arrangements.  Very nice!

– Scott Rosenberg
