by Sharon Pisinski

Hi Everyone, and welcome to the new year.  I have lots of great boob
tube stuff to tell you about so, lets get started..

CMT: Highlights

The CMT Showcase Artist for February is Clint Black.  Ten years ago, Clint
won the Horizon Award for "Most Promising New Artist" from the Country Music
Association and during the ensuing decade he has scored seven # 1 CMT videos
and 20 #1 hit songs.

CMT will spend the month talking with Clint about his music and personal
life with his wife, actress Lisa Hartman-Black.  Different episodes will be
telecast at 10:30pm on Fridays: Feb. 4, 11, 18, and 25

Faith Hill.jpg (148415 bytes)  Faith Hill will discuss her career and award-winning music videos in an
exclusive CMT special "Faith's Video Bio".  The 90-minute program will air on
Tuesday Feb. 8 from 3-4:30 pm. "Faith's Video Bio" includes outtakes from her
much-requested new video "Breathe."

"Face The Music", is CMT's newest weekly series that reveals the
"behind-the-scenes" happenings on the sets of country music videos. A diverse
line-up of country music artists will be featured in Feb. Check out new
episodes each Saturday at 9:30am.

TNN: Highlights

TNN'S highly acclaimed series, "The Life And Times Of..." goes beyond the
realm of their ususal biographies this month, to explore the legends and
myths of America's haunted cities and supernatural encounters in "The Life
And Times Of...The Heritage Series".

Each episode covers such topics as haunted landmarks in major cities, the
history of old, Southern plantations and modern-day encounters with angels.
Check out "The Life And Times Of...The Ghosts of Music City", an entertaing
look at the spirits of Nashville on Tuesday, Feb 15 at 9 pm.  Then on
Tuesday, Feb. 22, at 9 pm, its "The Life And Times Of...The Ghosts of Tinsel
Town", a roving exploration of the legendary haunts in Hollywood.

MTV: Highlights

"Real World/Road Rules Challenge" will bring together all of your favorite
cast members from past and present "Real World" and "Road Rules" seasons to
compete for major glory and major dough Monday nights at 9 pm.

VH-1: Highlights

Movies that rock....VH-1's latest original film, documents the fictional
reunion of John Lennon and Paul McCartney, and asks piercing questions about
"what might have happened" if their musical partnership and personal
friendship had continued. It premieres on Feb. 1 at 8 pm.

Now if you're tired of sitting in front of that TV set, get up and get
yourself to the 92nd Annual Chicago Auto Show at McCormick Place from Feb.
11-20.

The highlight of this month is The Grammy Awards Show, which will be
televised on Wednesday, Feb. 23 at 7 pm on CBS. Tune in to see who will go
home with the Grammy.  Who'll land "Record of the Year?"  Will it be The
Backstreet Boys, Cher, Ricky Martin, Carlos Santana or TLC?  Tune in to find
out!

A&E: Highlights

   BIOGRAPHY:

"Biography's Foul Play" week on A&E premieres on Feb. 7 at 7 pm with "Roman
Polanski".  This filmmaker has had a life more crammed with high drama than
any of the hypnotic, often horrific movies he directed.  The program includes
interviews with 16 of Roman's closest friends and co-workers.  The program
also includes personal photographs, a revealing interview with Polanski
himself and rare excerpts from his polygraph test in 1969 when he spoke
frankly about his murdered wife, Sharon Tate.

"Foul Play" continues on Feb. 8 at 7 pm with "Bob Crane: A Double Life".

This episode recounts how offstage Bob was a man obsessed with unusual
sexual pastimes - activities he assiduously documented on videotape with the
help of the man who was ultimately charged with his murder. Those charges
however were never proven in court, and the murder remains an unsolved
mystery.

On Wednesday, Feb. 9 at 7 pm "Foul Play" rolls on with "George Reeves",
recounting that on June 16, 1959, while a party was going on downstairs, the
actor who played "Superman", put a gun to his head and pulled the trigger.
Right away people started spreading rumors and inventing theories about how
and why he died.  Was it Toni Mannix the older woman who he had had an affair
with that had hired someone to kill him?  Hmmm...tune in to find out!

On Feb. 10, "Biography" concludes with "Lana Turner: Hollywood's Screen
Siren", which includes interviews with friends, employees and co-stars.
Others detail Lana's later life encounters with alcohol and religion.  In a
final irony, her death in 1995 was ignored by the press in favor of the
latest Hollywood sex scandal.

Tune in next month for our "Pick The Oscars Contest" and see if your picks
for this year's "Academy Awards" winners match up with ours.
This just in...catch local Lansing singer Tristen on TCI Cable's "Rick
Rock Show" (Channel 16) on Feb. 4.

February's trivia:  What cast member from the show "Hogan's Heroes" went on
to become a famous game show host?

Last month's answer:  Carol Merrill

Until next month, save me a spot on the couch...and don't eat all the
popcorn!
