Pretty Tony is the latest LP to hit stores from Ghostface Killah… Pastor Troy wants his new effort to reach the top of the charts By Any Means Necessary… Taxi Chain hopes music buyers everywhere will Smarten Up!, and buy their new record…The Garbage Man and The Prostitute. It’s not a porn flick from Jim Hillegonds’ personal collection. The Dead Kennedys will make available a 1979 live show available this month. Their Live At the Deaf Club will be on the Manifesto label… Fans of The Guess Who will want to pick up This Time Long Ago (The Lost Sessions 67-68)…New L.A. super-group –– Brides of Destruction –– conceived by Nikki Sixx (of Motley Crue fame) and Tracii Guns (of L.A. Guns) will finally unveil their much anticipated release, Here Come The Brides. With it, the ‘80s rockers hope to bring rock music back into the spotlight of today’s one-hit-wonder music industry…Twilight Circus is walking in The Footsteps of Godzilla… A dozen years have passed since Tesla’s last studio LP. The expanded version of Warrant’s debut album, Dirty Rotten Filthy Stinking Rich, will make it’s way into Tom Lounges’ CD player on the 16th… In fact, ask Tom if he still has the pile of hate mail that he received from hair-sprayed teeny-boppers back in the day when he first reviewed that album for the national glossy mag, “Song Hits Magazine.” And in case you didn’t know the latest, Warrant vocalist Jani Lane has been either kicked out or has quit the band (depending on who’s version you hear).A 2-CD Essential set is on the way from Alice In Chains… Fans of jam-bands will rejoice to know that The String Cheese Incident now has a three CD live set on the way, titled On The Road… We will get to see The Other Side of Godsmack just prior to St. Patrick’s Day… and we will also see new releases from the Ozric Tentacles, Cropknox, and Hilljack.MARCH 23... The Bootleg Series Vol. 6 from Bob Dylan has been highly anticipated by fans and critics alike. The 1964 concert at Philharmonic Hall features the legendary songwriter in an unusual light, since this captures Dylan just prior to his electric days, and he interacts with the audience, something he almost never does…Eric Clapton will pay tribute to blues pioneer Robert Johnson with his Me and Mr. Johnson LP. The album contains 14 of the 29 songs that Robert Johnson recorded, except for the Johnson songs that Clapton has already put on tape in his previous efforts…There is a new live CD on the way from The Allman Brothers Band… Lou Reed will perform an Animal Serenade with his 2-CD live set… We’ve also got the Live 2003 record from Ringo Starr & His All Star Band… and to finish the day off, you can pick up new DVD’s from Harry Connick Jr., Iggy and the Stooges, and matchbox twenty. There’s also that new (yuck!) Kelly Osbourne… which I’m sure won’t sell, and which will then be pulled from stores and have a bonus track added featuring Ozzy to hopefully make the record label break even on the money it took to make that piece of crap.MARCH 30...
