CHANNEL SURFING

    The Fall TV Season will start in full swing this month with all the major and cable networks premiering all the new shows, and bringing back favoritesv(and rating winners) from last year.


The BIG 5...

     ABC has added four new shows for this season: "The Geena Davis Show"
(Tuesday), "Gideon's Crossing" (Wednesday), "The Madigan Men" and "ThevTrouble With Normal" (Friday).

   CBS will offer seven new shows: "Yes, Dear" (Monday) "Bette and "Welcome
To New York" (Wednesday), "The Fugitive" and "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation"
(Friday) "That's Life" and "The District" (Saturday).

    NBC has six new shows for this season to add to its already hot lineup ofvshows: "ED" (Sunday) "Tucker" (Monday), "The Michael Richard's Show" andv"D.A.G."  (Tuesday), "Titans" (Wednesday), "Cursed"  (Thursday).

    FOX has a few new ones that have a lot of people excited - "Boston Public" (Monday), "Dark Angel" (Tuesday), "Normal, Ohio" (Wednesday) and "Freakylinks" (Friday).

    UPN has added four new shows "The Hughleys" and "Girlfriends" (Monday),
"UPN's Night At The Movies" (Tuesdays), "Freedom" and "Level 9" (Friday).


CMT HIGHLIGHTS...

    Aaron Tippin will be in the spotlight throughout the month of October on CMT, as "CMT Showcase Artist."  As such, Aaron Tippin will be featured in a weekly 30-minute interview and performance program.  Different episodes will be telecast each Friday at 10:30pm.

    CMT's weekly series, "Hit Trip," kicks off its third year on Oct. 6 with a romp thru The Big Apple with bubbly country star, Jo Dee Messina.   Look for SHeDAISY to join co-hosts Jeff and Alecia aboard a Disney cruise ship sailing to the Bahamas on Oct. 20   Wynonna takes us on her tour bus headed for Nashville's annual "Fan Fair" on Oct. 27.  It airs Fridays at 6pm.


TNT HIGHLIGHTS...

   TNT original, "Baby" airs Oct. 8 at 9 pm. Farrah Fawcett stars in this poignant drama about a family who comes to terms with love and loss after discovering a baby on their door step.

   TNT's original series "BULL" airs Tuesdays at 9pm.  TNT's first drama series is about a team of young investment bankers and traders who rock Wall Street when they break away from an established financial firm to start their own company.

   TNT premieres a couple of notable flicks this month. "U.S. Marshals, " finds Academy Award winner Tommy Lee Jones reprising his role from "The Fugitive" as the no-nonsense U.S. Marshall Sam Gerard in this action-packed film. 

    Teen eyes will be glued to the tube for "I Know What You Did Last Summer," a murder/horror flick based upon the novel by Lois Duncan, where the Gorton fisherman runs amuck with a baling hook.

    TNT has some winners pegged for their "Saturday Night New Classics" film series - "Places In The Heart" (Oct. 7), "The Color of Money" (Oct. 14),
"Saturday Night Fever" (Oct. 21) and "Carrie" (Oct. 28).  All movies start at 7pm.


TBS HIGHLIGHTS... 
 
    TBS Superstation's annual "15 Days of 007" movie marathon relocates to October with all of the Bond action intact. TBS will also present a new edition of "CyberBond," the network's online element which is shaping up to be the biggest and best yet.  The movies run nightly from Sunday, Oct. 1 thru Sunday, Oct. 15.

   The President's life is on the line in the TBS original thriller "First Target," starring Daryl Hannah, Doug Savant, and Gregory Harrison. "First Target" is the sequel to TBS Superstation's blockbuster 1999 original movie, "First Daughter," the most popular original movie in basic cable history. It premieres Oct. 15 at 6pm.

    The world broadcast premiere of "SPAWN" happens  Oct. 29, at 6 pm. Dazzling special FX highlight this big-screen version of Todd McFarlane's dark comic book saga.  Martial artist/action star, Michael Jai White, stars as a former government assassin who makes a pact with a demon.


A&E  HIGHLIGHTS...

   BIOGRAPHY: "Case Closed Week" The month kicks off with a string of episodes featuring famous TV dicks. James Garner of "The Rockford Files"  on
Oct. 2, Jerry Orbach of "Law & Order" on Oct. 3, and Jack "Just the Facts"
Webb of "Dragnet" on Oct. 5. Each airs at 7 p.m.
