Hello again to all of the faithful who stop by my little corner of the Midwest BEAT.  Here's what the labels have deemed worthy to hit store shelves this Roctober.

OCTOBER 5...

The bombardment of holiday albums continues this month with the release of the Barenaked Ladies LP, Barenaked for the Holidays... Dream Theater has their Live at Budokan CD set for release... X is on deck from Fates Warning... Fatboy Slim returns after a four-year absence with Palookaville...

Dennis DeYoung performs The Music of Styx, which features the symphony orchestra on this two CD set... Good Charlotte unveils The Chronicles of Life and Death...

Twisted Sister will release Still Hungry, which is a re-recording of the Stay Hungry LP and 7 bonus tracks... Those with young children will appreciate that the Wiggles’ holiday album, Rockin’ Santa, will arrive in plenty of time for the holidays... and a DVD of Meatloaf performing Live with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra is ready for release.

OCTOBER  12...

The 12th should be dubbed “the day of the turds.”  I know that comment is harsh, but here’s my reasoning... Celine Dion has her CD Miracles ready to go.  My guess is that the title comes from the fact that her Vegas show is still running... LeAnn RimesWhat a Wonderful World is on the way... Sum 41 is singing about a guy named Chuck... Clay Aiken has a Christmas album due out, as does Chris Isaak... and the Yeah Yeah Yeahs latest, Tell Me What Rockers to Swallow, is slated for release on the 12th. Oddly enough, that was also the title to a book written by local rocker Jim Hillegonds.

OCTOBER  19...

Futures is the new Jimmy Eat World album, packed with a bonus disc full of features... Redman will drop Red Gone Wild... fans of the band Train will be sure to love Alive at Last, the band’s new live LP...

Shimmy Down the Chimney is a country music filled Christmas album that should be perfect for a stocking stuffer, despite the fact that no songs are featured from former teen-rock legends, Felix, forever immortalized in “da region” for their mega-single, “Shimmy.”

DVD’s are on the way from David Bowie, Bruce Springsteen and Twisted Sister... and finally on the 19th, the only Christmas album that I will buy, William Hung (American Idol-fame) will be Hung for the Holidays.

OCTOBER  26...

To round out the month of October, DVD’s will surface from such disparate artists as –– Slayer, Jet, Jamie Cullem and Westside Connection...

Dionne Warwick (yes...Whitney Houston’s singing psychic auntie is still around) will tellus about her Favorite Time of the Year...

Xzibit will lead us to his Weapons of Mass Destruction... the Goo Goo Dolls go Live in Buffalo...and new albums are afoot from Nick Cave, Willie Nelson, John Frusciante and Billy Mayer’s favorite band, New Edition

That’s it for me... Happy Halloween!  BOO!
